Vendor couple on motorbike killed in Kalasin

By The Nation

An elderly married couple in Kalasin who sold vegetables for a living were killed late Tuesday night when a car struck the motorcycle and sidecar carrying them.

Pui Prachumsaen, 73, and his wife, Malee Son-utha, 66, died at Kalasin Hospital soon after the accident.

The motorcycle was destroyed in the collision on Kalasin-Ban Ton Road in Tambon Nua and the Honda City that struck it careened into a roadside shop.

Car driver Jiranda Sribanchuen, 26, suffered minor injuries and was hospitalised. At press time, police were still waiting to interview her.

And you base this on what?

The OP does not give any indication as to the cause of the road traffic crash.

on the fact two people lost their lives and on many possibilites speeding/ mobile phone

not paying attention lack of driving experience is that enough for you

Or perhaps the car was travelling on the highway the motorcycle and side car entered from a side road without looking, no lights etc......

I prefer to wait hear the full details before I join the "hang em high" crowd.

shocking  that young lady should get the maximum

penalty and never been allowed to drive again

Well, the standard (when it is your fault, as long as you are not drunk/high)

if you take responsibility is a 2,000 baht fine and a 2 year suspended

sentence. So a slap on the wrist. That said still lots of questions. Lights

on the rear of the side car, etc.....etc...

Odd that this is being reported here? With 60+ deaths per day it could be rather full here on TV if all those were to..And without doubt imo this would be a common incident. Anyone whos spent more than a day on the roads here, knows those large slowmoving vehicles are everywhere and cause untold traffic problems.. (not saying they should be banned)
