Timing on Multiple Re-entry permit?

Featured Replies

My 90 Non-O expires Jan 14. I'm leaving early Jan so I'll probably submit my retirement extension around Dec 19.

The annual extension is added to the end of the Non-O and will be in effect Jan 14, 2018 - Jan 13, 2019?

What happens to the effective dates of a multiple re-entry permit if I apply for it the same day just after getting the annual extension on Dec 19? Is the permit good for Jan 14, 2018 - Jan 13, 2019 or is it good for Dec 19, 2017 - Dec 18, 2018?

Your extension will start from the end of your 90 day entry from the non-o visa.

The re-entry permit will be valid from the date it is issued to the end of your extension in January 2019.

The expiry date of your visa is irrelevant. If the 90 day permit to stay you received on entry with the Non 'O' visa expires on Jan 14th then your 1 year extension of stay will be Jan 15th 2018 until Jan 14th 2019.

You only really need a multiple entry re-entry permit (3,800 baht) if your planning a few trips out/in during the year. Single entry re-entry permits are also available at 1,000 baht each. Any re-entry permits would be valid until Jan 14th 2019.

Thanks Ubonjoe and Elviagero.

I'll probably do at least 3 trips out of the country so will get the multiple re-entry permit.
