December 5, 20178 yr I have recently retired after living and working in Thailand for many years. I am now on a Non-Immigrant 'O' Visa, which I intend to extend with 800,000 baht in an appropriate bank account. My local Immigration Office (Udon Thani) require some proof of address. I am living with my partner in her own house and we are not married. We plan to visit our local amphur and apply for my name to be entered on the housebook. Will that be in order? Is there anything that I need to know before applying?
December 5, 20178 yr Immigration will accept a short written statment that you are living with her with a copy of their house book and ID card attached for proof of residency. You cannot be registered in their house book. You could get a yellow house book based upon their house book with their permission.

I suppose knowing that you (as a foreigner) can't be entered into the house book would be a good start However all is not lost, we got a letter from the amphur stating that we lived together and had done for some time (it was actually for an overseas bank, but should do the tick for immigration). Ask immigration what they would accept. I see Joe beat me to it, evidently he types faster "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
