Is it legally possible for 2 unrelated Thai nationals to get a Home Loan?

Recommended Posts

Seasons greetings.

My sister-in-law (Thai) would like to apply for a joint home loan with her "best friend" (Thai, male, gay) of which the family is aware of and does not object, to invest in a condominium unit as investment.

Legally, is it possible for two unrelated Thais (in this instance, friends) to apply for a joint home loan from the reputable local banks (SCB/Kbank/TMB/BBL)?

Or is a legally recognised relationship required, such as immediate family, married couple, business partners, etc?

A quick google shows certain banks require family or marital relationship to qualify but others made no mention.

Thank you any insights.
