Entering Thailand from an ASEAN country via car

this is a comment and a question to Thai Law Makers, if they may ever read it or some one may report it to them!

we do live between Thailand and Laos, driving into Thailand at least once a week purchasing goods for our operation in VTE and LPB, which is fresh cash income for Thai traders.
we have seen a very negative approach from the actual immigrations restriction implemented

beginning of 2017, limitation of 2 entries without visa for europeans if we enter Thailand via road ,  it was "nonsense' done to stop the illegal visa run, well it didnt work, visa run are always happening, only made it difficult for us who work in Laos legally to purchase goods  or use health care facilities in Thailand, on this subject we started already to order goods via Vietnam and Chinese traders in Laos since every day seem that its getting worst.

then now new law from 1st January 2018  if you driving a company car or a car purchased at the name of my spouse or our companies we need a long papers works, as power of attorney, Thai consulate certified copy of passport or ID card of Drivers and Car Owner.

by May another law is being announced, there will be a fee (extra to the 200thb we pay every-time with enter with the car) for Thai road usage, a kind of toll way fee (amount still unknown) but only for use regular Thai road.

based on a survey i read on The Nation 70% of foreigner cars entering Thailand are from Lao PDR

consider the following :

Nong Kai, Udon Thani, Nakhon Phanom, Khon Kaen, and all the Thai cities and village on the border area, enjoy a happy financial status due the over 80% of trade done with Laos as well the hospitals, what will be for AEK Udon or BKK Hospital in UDT, Makro, all the shipping companies, all the Thai wholesalers along the border if there will be no Laotians or Foreigners living in Laos coming everyday to spend they cash ?!?

From 2017 Thai Law makers are making every day much more difficult for allow Lao people, Lao businesses and enterprises and Foreigners living in Laos to spend their cash in Thailand.

the  final question, why are you keeping making laws that are already trying to stop legal inflow of cash trade with your neighbor Laos ?

as above, does not affect the laos people or laos businesses, ONLY Farangs choosing to live in Laos ( of which i would think are not that many) yet take advantage of what thailand offers

there not making any laws to stop legal trade.

the new law charging 200 baht is only being discussed as of now

guess you get it wrong

the new requirement require ANYONE CARELESS of Citizenship to have such documentations, indeed it will effect much more Laotian then "falang" as most of the car are under loans or imported under company names instead of private person.

we send our staff, indeed the issue remain the same drivers are not the legal owner of the car as the vehicle belong to the company and not the driver.

what you think on expatriate living in Laos is very subjective as we can see you dont have a clear idea of what is the actual situation here, guess Phuket beautiful seas makes foggy ideas of what is happening in Laos.

so you get the proper documents...whats the big deal??

on the link you gave it shows exactly what is needed, how much easier can it get??

its no different documentation than Laos requires for Thai registered vehicles now because so many motorcycles have been rented in CM and taken into Laos and sold
