Quick Overstay Question

Featured Replies

I extended my tourist visa.

It ended on December 3rd.

I paid the 30 day extension ...but only after I left did I notice they extended me only 29 days.

My passport says my visa is done January 1st. My flight is January 2nd. So I am overstaying 1 day.

What's the protocol at BKK?

Is there a chance they will see the mistake and understand?

I've never overstayed so I want to make sure I allow enough time to solve the issue so I don't miss my flight.

I also don't want to drive an hour back to Mo Chit to attempt to solve the problem...

Thanks in advance for anyone who takes the time!

leave on the 2nd pay the 1 day fine.

there will be no consequences beyond monetary.

It seems they started your extension on the date your stay ended.

Immigration at Chaeng Wattana would sort it out for you if you went there,

Immigration on departure from either airport in Bangkok do not fine people for a 1 day overstay.

They may not even do a stamp if you point immigration's error.
