December 14, 20178 yr I see that there are longtail boats for hire out of Ao Po at the jetty, looks like they have some established tours with a set itinerary. I'm looking to do something a bit different would rather put together my own itinerary if possible. Secondly I'd like to be able to do some further exploring with a kayak at some of the stops we would make with the longtail. I've never read about anyone doing this, seems you either longtail and take pictures and maybe snorkel or you do kayaking off one of the big tour boats. Would it be possible to rent a two person kayak and put it on the longtail? Is it possible to set any of this up the day before so that we could make an early start the next day without spending hours getting it arranged and setting out? Are there any kayaks for rent around Ao Po jetty? As far as itenary for the day, thinking about Koh Panak and Koh Hong (not the one near Krabi), I don't know how much ground these longtails can cover in a day, would be trying to include Koh Roi be out of the question? Google show Koh Roi about 15 miles from Ao Po, so it would be about 25 miles round trip for the day for those 3 places. Thanks for the help!
December 15, 20178 yr I doubt anyone on this forum would have a clue what it would cost but i have rented longtail boats from Krabi, Phang Nga and Rawai and the average cost was about 1500 baht for 2 to 3 hours negotiated directly with the boat owner
December 15, 20178 yr Go to Phang Nga town, at the bus terminal, mr Kean travel, had many trips with him when ive had visitors from home. Always satisfied and great staff. Plenty of interesting things to see in town too, thats why i suggest to go there for the boat trip. Edited December 15, 20178 yr by keithpa add to

Boatman happy to take 800 baht for 5 hours. 3 Pax.
December 15, 20178 yr I think a few of us over the years have rented a longtail boat, its the kayak bit i doubted being easy to arrange for yourself My prices were from about 8 years ago, could cost more now In 1995 i did a full day tour of Phang Nga bay including lunch, kayaking. james bond island and a island beach stop for 1500 baht including national park fee, probably double that cost now Edited December 15, 20178 yr by madmax2
