Police set up a 100 meter exclusion zone after a driver carrying 25 tons of highly inflammable chemical lost control of his 18 wheel truck.

The trailer ended up by the side of Route 36 the Krathing Lai - Rayong road in the direction of Pattaya.

The chemical methyl methacrylate was spread all over the road after the accident yesterday afternoon.

Driver Kitisak Jaidiaw, 36, told police that a vehicle on his right started tilting and caused him to lose control resulting in the trailer overturning. He was on his way from a factory to the Laem Chabang port.

Huay Yai, Bang Lamung police are continuing to investigate.

Sophon Cable TV reported the accident on their Facebook page but there was no mention of any injuries.

They said that the chemical is used in industry and can be a danger to breathing and the skin.

Driver told police vehicle on his right started tilting, and made him lose control, BS

Why ohh why will people here not take responsibility for their own failings?

Kitisak was driving, he was responsible for his truck over turning, nobody else.

Too right and all mate .. The only surprise about this one so far is the driver hasn't trotted out an excuse of the brakes failed or some mischief making ghost inhabited the brake system therebye causing the crash .. Inevitably something or someone else will be blamed ..

Around 1969 I worked in a place that made plastic skeletons for the film industry  ( stay with me ) and hospitals for teaching purposes , the liquid was MMM , methyl methacrilate monomor .  Strange stuff , could use it in cigarette lighters and after a few beers and back to work on a Friday we all got as high as a kite from breathing the fumes after alcohol.

Little H & S in those days.
