The United States Special Representative for North Korea thanked Thailand for its compliance with the relevant United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions on North Korea.

Joseph Yun, United States Special Representative for North Korea Policy, called on Virasakdi Futrakul, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, on Thursday (Dec 14) when the two exchanged views on the situation on the Korean Peninsula.

The US special envoy arrived in Bangkok on Wednesday for a two-day visit, which is part of his Dec 11-15 Asia trip. Mr Yun reaffirmed US Secretary of State’s position that the US is determined to resolve the tension on the Korean Peninsula through a diplomatic solution and dialogue, according to the Foreign Affairs Ministry’s statement. Mr Virasakdi underscored the commitment of Thailand to see peace on the Korean Peninsula.

I see no statement from the US Special Representative "thanking Thailand" within the OP.

I do however see the old chestnut  "according to the Foreign Affairs Ministry’s statement."

The term "Thanks for nothing" instantly springs to mind.
