Motor Vehicle Sun-Block Window Film_Dark_Brand ; Formula [ One ? ]_90 % [ All around ? ]_Attached 2 Days ago

I was visiting Phitsanulok for to get some major tasks executed to my relatively recent purchased used pickup [ Ford Ranger XLT ( Non-Inline Fuel Injection ) Diesel Turbo 4 x Door  ; Silver ; Virtually same as Mazda [ Same platform at least ; Same engine too I think ; Just a "re-badged" Mazda for ex-North America Ford market ; Possibly some difference in body panels ] ; Both assembled at Alliance Thai, Rayong ]

My lovely Thai missus assumed control after I insisting that prior to attaching any replacement Sun-Block Film any pits into the front windscreen must be professionally repaired.

She thought this ridiculous because the Thai lady whom she was talking with said that "May pen ly ... ", & the other Thai lady said ...

I retorted that the blog for Falangs would love to hear about the Thai lady being the authoritative say in any motor matter ... 8-)

1st Sun-Block Film business visited ;

"Lamina" brand available for THB 4,000 ; And, @ this price for 3mm thickness & choice of 60 % or 80 %.

Proprietor [ Female ] declared that pits are not important & that anyway her employee who specialises in repairing the pits not available for my duration of stay in this town.

2nd Sun-Block Film business visited ;

"Lamina" brand available for THB 3,800 according to large billboard on highway outside their premises.

Again, @ this price for 3mm thickness & choice of 60 % or 80 %.

BUT ... BUT ... BUT

Representative [ Female ] stated that they :

1_

charge THB 300 for labor in addition to the billboard price

Through my grumbling translated by my woman to this business, they finally agreed to do for THB 200.

2_

do not repair pits, but off-hand they can only think of 1 garage that does & that upon dealing with them I could return for they to execute the Sun-Block Window Film job.

But, they informed that they would not be responsible for any difficulties encountered later due to sticky up / down operation of front windows encountered with existing old sun-block window film on this vehicle.

3rd Sun-Block Film business visited

This actually the garage recommended by 2nd Sun-Block Film business

My all-knowing woman was insistent against my argument that this garage really a Sun-Block Film business ;

They had a heap of car window windscreens piled up outside near the road

Although, no visible advertising or other information.

Having confirmed that they repair pits [ THB 500 per pit ] -- & they informed us that there were 2 in total -- they said :

1_

They do not offer Lamina

2_

They offer a brand superior to Lamina ;

Formula [ One ? ] ; USA Manufacturer ; But, no literature presented

Ceramic

Excellent visibility to exterior "by day" & "by night" ; So the proprietor said with authority

7 Year Warranty

He recommended 80 % all around

THB 3,500

We ventured with their offer.

I very surprised to learn that this Sub Block Window Film is :

1_

applied both to inside & outside

2_

it very black

When they finished the job,- they instructed that the Film be :

1_

offered to the hard sun for 7 days so as to set into the window panels properly

2_

NOT touched during these 7 days

Warranty Card states :

1_

"Formula" only ; Not "Formula One"

2_

LG-35

LG-05

LG-05

LG-05

QUESTIONS

1_

I wonder about the touching aspect ;

Would finger marks & hand-daubs serve to damage the film during those 7 days ?

2_

What do posters think about this product ?

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Note ;

As may be noticed ;

I surprised at the lack of customer service from all 3 businesses visited.

Very disappointed at lack of literature

Attitude to customer I feel was variably deficient among these businesses too.
