Many roads are repaired to reduce accidents in New Year's holidays

BANGKOK, 26th December 2017 (NNT) - All units are ready to provide security and facilitate the public's enjoyment during the New Year festival.

In Bueng Kan, emergency operations officers of Bueng Kan Hospital and military officers, inspected medical equipment on Monday, along with first aid kits, ambulances and emergency vehicles. Rescue teams have been trained to promptly help and give first aid to the injured.

At the blood donation center in Khon Kaen, around 30 people have been coming to the center to donate blood each day. The center has also sent mobile units to receive donated blood needed for patients and the injured throughout the coming New Year’s long holidays.

Sing Buri has launched a special center to prevent and reduce road accidents during the New Year festival. Free vehicle inspections will be provided for motorists who are heading north.

The Highways Department is urgently improving Sai Pho Road over more than 10 kilometers, ahead of the long holidays. The road will be used as a shortcut to the northern provinces.

Meanwhile, the Nakhon Ratchasima rural roads department is campaigning for road safety and is sending its staff to facilitate the passage of commuters. Damaged roads are being repaired to prevent accidents.

Maybe more effort should be placed repairing the brains of the drivers which are the no. 1 reason for all the carnage..

well, better than nothing, but not really the solution required for a country with the most dangerous roads in the world.

" Free vehicle inspections will be provided"

Examiner - " Your brakes are knackered, your steering is dangerous and your tyres are bald"

Somchai  " Mai pben lai"

Or,

Somchai: That sounds very serious. Better make that 3 amulets.

And the other 364 days a year ?

Not to worry about those road repairs. Streets will soon revert to "normal"

30? Why so few? Thais could save some money by donating blood, turning pale, not having to buy whitening creams.

Damaged roads are being repaired to prevent accidents.......... !!

so if so many road are repaired = better roads = can drive even faster............  just where does to prevent accidents come into this ?

nice effort but this isn't the solution to reducing road accidents and we all know this

At least the roadworks / bottle necks will slow traffic down to a snail's pace - that might just help to reduce the number of deadly accidents...

So it is the roads causing the accidents. OK, gotcha. Carry on road carnage......

Leave the roads as they are.

By leaving the roads full of potholes, trash, stray mutts, and a variety of static and mobile vending stalls, the traffic speed will be reduced, thus aiding the quest to make the roads safer.

Driving in this Country is akin to a real life " Play Station " game, but regrettably, there is no " start again " option for so many poor souls.

And the police checks will all add to bringing down the average speed of the journey.  Once there, however, get the beers in.
