I'm in Jomtien, does anyone know a local place where I can get a certified / notarised copy of my passport and how much ?

No I don't , but depending on what you want it for It may have to be certified by the embassy If you also need it translating It may have to be verified by the ministry of foreign affairs

It all seems a bit daft to me when some official requests a "certified copy " of the document he's holding in his hand but it is what it is

Whatever it is for check that it is acceptable to get a lawyer to notarise it and if so try a few local ones to see who will do it.

Thai Euro Law office in the soi that runs parallel to Pattaya Tai in between there and Big C on Sukhumvit charge about 1000 baht for the service.
