DPM Prawit confirms NCPO order aimed at creating level ground for political parties

BANGKOK, 28th December 2017 (NNT) - The deputy prime minister in charge of security affairs has confirmed the National Council for Peace and Order’s latest decision to allow more time for political parties to complete mandatory tasks in preparation for the election, is aimed at creating a level operating ground for all.

Deputy Prime Minister Gen. Prawit Wongsuwon, told reporters on Wednesday, that the claim by some political parties that the NCPO’s latest order seems like an attempt to reset their membership recording system, was an inaccurate interpretation of the the council’s intention.

Gen. Prawit said that the deadline extension for political parties to complete the update of their membership database would not affect the existence of any party but would allow both existing and new parties to undertake their preparations for the next election from the same starting point.

He also stated that the NCPO’s plan to lift the ban on political activities on April 1, 2018 will also help it achieve all plans laid down in the national reform roadmap.

Meanwhile, Army Commander, Gen. Chalermchai Sittisart confirmed this week that the NCPO has been making all of its decisions in accordance with the roadmap.

At the same time, Election Commissioner Somchai Srisutthiyakorn, said on Wednesday that the EC could confirm that political parties’ membership systems have shown no duplications to date, and the databases show no irregularities after more than 1.2 million people earlier signed up with more than one party were sorted out.

However, Mr. Somchai noted that there could be some confusion when political parties need to complete the checking of their memberships and the collection of the membership fee within 30 days of the ban on political activities being lifted.

Ah watchman confirms so we can all rest easy.

What a complete and total retard.  Send him on watch shopping trip, whatever, just get rid of this bloody moron. Calling him stupid is actually an insult to stupid people.

I thought this prat was on tick-leave, anyway . . . maybe having trouble sleeping.

Thanks for not putting a picture of him with the headline.

The sight of him sickens me, the original greedy, corrupt fat cat.

Just checking bases he is. He wants to make sure those parties running against the junta hardly have any member s and there fore have no funds to fight a decent election A funny thing about Thai people you can tell them all the B/S in the world and they will believe you. So i say the plan of attack from the Junta if there is ever another election will be to control the media, newspapers and other form of  communication They will have unlimited money from the treasury and if they look like loosing will fudge the voting fiquers The level playing field he is talking about has a 90 degree angle in it The Junta is sitting at the point at the top and the other parties are at the bottom Its like pushing sh  it up hill
