Wake Up
I am 57 year old single man considering moving to Khon Kaen from BKK. I have traveled most of Thailand and always enjoyed visiting Khon Kaen. If I do move I will buy a truck as I don’t like to drive motorbikes and walking in Khon Kaen does not seem practical without the BTS. In your experience what do you like about living in Khon Kaen and what do you dislike. And what neighborhoods should I look to rent and what neighborhoods should I stay away from. Thanks for your input.
wilai
Good starting point would be to look around Bueng Kaen Nakorn lake at the south end of the city. Decent quality housing (Piman Chol 2 probably the best), restaurants and a couple of bars with friendly farangs. Good walking around the lake/park for your morning excercise? Tesco & 7/11 on edge of the estate. Swimming pool and gym etc on site. Only about 15 mins from town centre. My place is rented out at 25k but you will get somewhere for about 15k or maybe less. Travel2003
If you live near Khon Kaen city center, walking is in fact very easy and convenient.
