Prayuth Asks Press To Promote Govt’s Work

BANGKOK — The press should promote the government’s work, report positive news and enable all sides to talk with one another, junta leader Gen. Prayuth Chan-ocha said on Tuesday.

 

Prayuth made the remarks Tuesday at the Government House in a meeting with journalists on his first day of work of the year.

He just doesn't get it, does he? The job of the journalist is not to be a government mouthpiece no matter who is in power.

How dare news media allow debates, which enable the public to access all sides of an issue.

 

Don’t they know this leads to people making up their own minds.

 

The propaganda department is not happy about this.

Since when do the press report positive things? That´s just why we like it! 

"Asks"?

 

Did he add an "or else"?

 

The "government" has a daily TV show I think? And the Junta supremo has his weekly Friday broadcast "lecture". And the Army has their own TV station. 

 

He loves being the top man, and always seems so angry when the press does anything except fawn all over him.
