North Korea says to send senior officials, athletes to Olympics: South Korea

SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea said during rare talks with the South it will send a delegation of high-ranking officials, athletes and a cheering squad to the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in South Korea next month, a senior South Korean official said on Tuesday.

Seoul proposed inter-Korean military talks to reduce tensions on the Korean peninsula and a reunion of family members in time for February's Lunar New Year holiday, said South Korea's vice unification minister Chun Hae-sung.

South Korea also proposed that athletes from the two Koreas march together at the Games' opening ceremony and other joint activities between the two nations during the Games, Chun told reporters outside the first formal talks between North and South Korea in more than two years.

Looking at that photo....  why do men at negotiations always wear the same clothes;  dark gray suits with white shirt and tie?  Can't they get a tiny bit creative, and wear a color or something a bit different?  Europeans set the style of drab suit and tie, when? (2 centuries ago?) and Asians and nearly every other man follows suit (pun intended).  If I was a world leader, regardless of which country, I would wear something with some color and comfort.   In Thailand, there are 3 colors for cars:  white, black and gray.  Worldwide, there's one color for men's suits:  dark gray.

Sorry, back on topic:  I like the Olympics.  That's one topic I often watch on Youtube in the evening. One of my favorite events is women's 4x400 relay.  Even without sound, ...just watching those young women in top shape, running like gazelles, .....is enjoyable.   Oh, we're supposed to be talking about Winter Olympics, sorry.
