Non O Based on Marraige - Expires Overseas

Featured Replies

My Non O Multi Entry Based on Marraige expires on my next trip to work offshore. I am on a 28/28 rotation.

I plan to come back in on a Visa Exempt. I have not had one for 3yrs as I have been on 1yr Non O Multi Entry visas. I arrive on Saturday and fly to Savannakhet on the Monday to get another Non O Multi based on Marraige.

Does anyone see any issues with this? I have my ticket to Savannakhet printed as proof.

I was going to get a re entry stamp but with a full page for my Laos entry, Non O Visa and stamps in and out of Laos/Thailand I will be drastically short on pages in my PP with only spaces in pages here and there.

I have no time to get a PP next rota so will get a new one the following leave.

You should not have any problem getting a visa exempt entry when you return.

The onward ticket to Savannakhet will likely be needed to board your flight to here.

On option you have is to get a single re-entry permit (1000 baht) to keep the remainder of your current 90 day entry valid when your return. It requires about half a page.

You could then apply for a 60 day extension to visit wife, which allows time to get a new passport, before going to Savannakhet for your new Non Imm O ME.

Re entry permit was the plan. Unfortunately space in the PP is at a premuim. My main concern was coming in Visa Exempt as its not really why I am coming in. Im full time here and like to keep things official if possible.

Hopefully will get a good IO. Im sure if I explain the situation they will understand. Its only my PP is fully of entry stamps every month.

What's your nationality (how long to get passport)

When does your current 90 day expire

What are your rota dates.

I can use a Visa Exempt to come in next rota. I leave for work Wednesday. Fly to Laos and get a new Non O Multi based on Marraige in Savan. I will have enough space to enter again next rotation and get a new UK Passport.

Well thats the plan!

Fair enough.

Your main concern seemed to be available space left in your passport.

You always have the option to get a 60 day extension + re-entry permit, then returning from your next rota 28 days would be ample time to apply for a new passport (14 days) then get a new Non Imm O at Savannakhet.

You know your situation better than anyone else.

Applying for the (jumbo) 48 page passport, rather than the standard 32 pages, would be beneficial due to the amount of exit/entries you do.

Are you aware that means using your old passport every time you enter the country to use your visa until it expires.

I suggest you make an appointment to apply for the passport before returning from your rotation. Perhaps a day or 2 after you enter the country.

All good Ideas. Unfortunately I have booked and paid for the Savannakhet trip and its not refundable. We tend to take our time and make a mini holiday whilst doing the Visa so I will probably be in Laos/Issan around a week.

I always go for the larger PP. The issue was friendly Angolan Immigration stamping new pages for fun when going to work.

Im paid up for Savannakhet unfortunately. It would have made sense to get the PP first. Oh well looks like 2 Passports. I might get 2 or three entries out of the old PP hopefully.

I had the same situation and for a fee, the Laos Immigration added a temporary stapled in paper to my passport along with the visa so it didn't take up a real page.  This was at the bridge at Mukdahan, not sure if flying into Savan they would do the same, but if the baht is right, they probably will.

Might be worth a try.

Just carry both passports.

The Visa in your expired passport is still valid.

Further entry/exits should be stamped in your new passport.
