More money being spent to put lipstick on a pig.

Unless they are likely to declare independence and need the place for customs/Immigration they might as well bulldoze it for all the use it is.

Nobody wants to stop there - on the way out your journey has just begun. Coming in you're nearly at your final destination and not likely to stop at that point.

I wonder how much the 7 meter turtle sculpture will cost?

Don't forget the number of tour buses passing near this spot every day on the way to Phangna and James Bond Island in particular. This so-called landmark will rank alongside gem stores, latex shops and floating markets as a means to persuade mainly Chinese tourists to part with their money.

Just another reason to cream-off tax-payers money. Will Phuket ever rid itself from these Bureaucrats ?

"Will Phuket ever rid itself from these Bureaucrats ?" - should read........."Will Phuket ever rid itself from these criminals?"

On the way off the island they have a long double back detour. But on the way back to Phuket then a stop would make sense. Nice toilet stop.

"Nice toilet stop." - and no doubt it will be 10 baht to use the toilet.  Not a bad earner.
