ubonrthai
Can you still do a counter withdrawal with a foreign debit card? Which banks are allowing this and not charging a fee? I tried an SCB and Bangkok Bank yesterday and both told me to use the ATM, but they were smaller branches. Heading in to the big city today to try main branches. Thanks. Pib
You'll just have try various branches regardless of their parent bank. Some branches will just point you to their ATMs; others will do a counter withdrawal for free or with a fee. And some banks are now charging a Bt200 fee to do a foreign counter withdrawal like Krungsri Bank started a few months ago....below talks a foreign Visa card...can say for sure it would also apply for say a Mastercard. And some branche will do a counter withdrawal only if you accept a DCC transaction which give an approx 3% lower exchange rate (indirect fee....additional profit for the bank) than the full Visa/Mastercard rate. Banksters there are.
