Here is what time you should be able to see tonight's super moon in Thailand

A reminder that a ‘Super Blue Blood Moon’ (total eclipse) will be visible at moon rise in Thailand this evening.

The visible partial eclipse will begin at 18.48. Total eclipse will begin at 19.51 and reach maximum at 20.29. Totality will end at 21.07. The partial eclipse ends at 22.11, followed by the penumbral eclipse ending at 23.08.

Weather permitting, the moon will turn a blood red color for about an hour and a half from 19.51 until 21.07. It should be quite a sight.

The Jan. 31 full moon is special for three reasons: it’s the third in a series of “super moons” when the moon is closer to Earth in its orbit – known as perigee – and about 14 percent brighter than usual. It’s also the second full moon of the month, commonly known as a “blue moon.”

The super blue moon will pass through earth’s shadow to give viewers in the right location a total lunar eclipse. While the moon is in the earth’s shadow it will take on a reddish tint, known as a “blood moon.”

I charged my camera battery on Sunday, but it's cloudy as hell, up here in Isan. Been like this for 2 days, now . . .  great for working outside though.

Too much light pollution in cities.

So if full moons are every 29 days, the next one will be on 1st March followed by 30th March, the second blue moon this year. Does this mean that Man City will win all 4 ?

Light overcast here in Kalasin at the moment.. if it is straight above it might be visible  but near the horizon I doubt that you would see much.. anyway.. will keep the fingers crossed..

While Bangkokians have missed many lunar phenomenons because of our cloudy sky, National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) will live-stream the super blue blood moon tonight, which is a lunar event that hasn’t been seen in 152 years.

NARIT Director Dr. Saran Posayajinda said Thailand will be able to see the super blue blood moon tonight after 6:30pm, and we’re supposed to see a full eclipse from 7:51pm to 9:07pm.

While there is no official public viewing in Bangkok, NARIT will live stream the moon on their Facebook page, from a telescope at Central Festival Chiang Mai between 6:30pm to 10pm.

Yes . . . bloody nut cases, the lot of 'em . . . they want puttin' away if you ask me. As for Liverpool . . . there is a team to eclipse even City!!!!!!!!

Lucky, lucky lotto numbers: 20.29.

Looking forward, clear sight and clean air here in Songkhla province, not keen to take any pictures, but good time for a barbecue.

That's right another blue moon in March that means February won't have a full moon.

I've been watching the nearly full moon for the past couple of nights in anticipation.  I think it starts in the East which I don't have a good view of.  But perfect viewing in the West.   I think good viewing starts a little before 8:00 pm.

Neighbors tell me Thai name for this phenomena is "frog eats moon" , "gob gin duan" , (<<<<Thai language removed>>>>)

English is the only acceptable language anywhere on ThaiVisa including Classifieds, except within the Thai language forum, where of course using Thai is allowed.

Can see the eclipse starting here now with a clear sky. The Earth's shadow is just starting to eat into the circle of the moon starting in the bottom left quadrant - looking good so far!
