Lawyer moves to block sale of Yingluck’s frozen assets

A LAWYER representing fugitive former premier Yingluck Shinawatra has filed a petition with the Administrative Court seeking an injunction against the plan by the Department of Legal Execution to auction her assets, including a house.

 

Lawyer Noppadon Laothong said there has been no final judgment in the civil liability case against Yingluck hence the government could not auction off Yingluck’s assets as compensation for state losses resulting from her government’s rice-pledging scheme.

 

He said the case against Yingluck is unusual since special powers under Article 44 of the interim charter have been exercised by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to speed up the process.

 

The Finance Ministry earlier filed the civil liability lawsuit against Yingluck seeking a Bt35-billion compensation to cover state losses. The Department of Legal Execution was ordered to prepare for the auction of Yingluck’s assets.

Due process pushed aside again.  A44 is turning out to be liability.  Whoever came up with it should resign immediately. 

Rice pledging today rubber pledging tomorrow as for the 44 up yours son I do not think you are man enough to try it on with me.

She lost all her rights when she fled . Sell her assets already !

Has that lawsuit been adjudicated? No.

So by what authority can the government auction Yingluck's assets?

Ohh. By the authority of General Prayut as NCPO Chief. He can do "whatever."

To continue political destruction of an opposition party in the next election and what appears to be a personal vendetta.

Not that is not a true statement. 

 

For whose benefit are these assets going to be sold?  Why not wait until after the elections ?  The junta loses its moral authority every time it uses A44 and the junta has no more integrity than she does.  The proceeding can wait for due process and an elected government.  The assets are not going anywhere.  Selling them would not be politically wise for the junta anyway as it has a fondness for watches and Chinese submarines.

If they wait until after the election, the house will be in ruins as mother nature will have reclaimed it...

When the rich people flee Thailand instead of taking their punishment, they should lose,their

assets. Yingluck and Big Brother are no different, they took enough from Thailand, so sell the assets,while there is some value in them.
