Justice Minister ACM Prajin Juntong

The Justice Ministry on Wednesday launched a project to dispatch mobile units to rural areas in five regions to help equip members of the public with knowledge about the law to boost their immunity against being taken advantage of or human right violations.

The project was intended to prevent people from being victimised by “influential” criminals.

The target provinces were: the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) provinces of Rayong and Chon Buri; the Central provinces of Sing Buri, Lop Buri and Ayutthaya; the Northeastern province of Kalasin; the Northern province of Chiang Mai; and the Southern province of Surat Thani.

The launch of the event was presided over by Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Minister ACM Prajin Juntong.

During the launch, Office of Justice Affairs director Wanlop Nakbua said his agency’s officials would travel in the mobile units to provide the public with information about the law and listen to their problems and suggestions to improve the ministry’s work.

The mobile units would be stationed in each province for three days and work with the respective provincial judicial offices, he said.

The topics to be covered include how to file a petition for justice in a criminal case, guidelines for the approval of bail, legal procedures for asset sales with the right of redemption, mortgage agreements, requests for mediation, debt-related laws, legal execution of bankruptcy cases and how to file requests for compensation.

I doubt they  will tell the rural folks who is actually violating the 30 paragraphs of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
