Thailand poised to stage cultural shows in UK

BANGKOK, 16 February 2018 (NNT) – A Thai traditional dance troupe is scheduled to travel to the United Kingdom next week to take part in cultural shows as part of an effort to strengthen bilateral relations.

According to Ms Busadee Santipitaks, Director-General of the Department of Information and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a Thai cultural promotion tour will be organized in London from February 21-28 under the Foreign Ministry’s cooperation with the Culture Ministry and the Royal Thai Embassy in London.

Joining this trip is a group of Thai classical dancers from Bunditpatanasilpa Institute. They are set to perform at the British Museum on February 22 and at Kew Gardens on February 22, 23 and 26 as part of the Orchids Festival 2018.

The objective of this cultural promotion tour is to enhance the Thai-UK friendship and relations and to project a good image of Thailand to the international community.

The easiest way to do that is by doing good things. The worst way to do it is by doing bad things. This is basically how most of the real world works.

Taoism: shit happens

Buddhism: if shit happens, it isn't really shit

Islam: if shit happens, it is the will of Allah

Catholicism: if shit happens, you deserve it

Judaism: why does this shit always happen to us?

Atheism: I don't believe this shit

Yes, you have said it! The Thai faux-elite are so obsessed with image. They don't care about the reality. They don't realise that if they were truly good - fair, just, democratic, kind, and open-minded to constructive criticism - the world would truly respect them.

As it is, the civilised world just despises them or, at best, laughs at them in disbelief and derision.

I can see how one would want to pop a few corks.

A few years ago a mate of mine was renting a house out  in UK to a few Thai "waitresses" Strangely there is No thai restaurant any where near

One assumes they were forerunners of this idea:coffee1:

There are Thai events all over the UK throughout the year.

I don't go as it costs a fiver to get in and another fiver for Pad Thai.

But it's all there: Food, music, costumes, dancing and yes......ladyboys.

There have been numerous Thai cultural shows touring all over Thailand for at least 20 years, also known as 'The Ladyboys of Bangkok' show! I saw them in Salford back in the late 90's I think it was ....

Boris probably invited some traditional dancers and traditional masseuses to have a close look.
