February 17, 20188 yr As has been guessed earlier, UBER will most likely disappear from the Thai (and SEA) market soon, which means another monopoly will soon be reality - it already shows, as prices of GRAB have doubled in PTY in the past two weeks and there is ALWAYS the "fares are higher due to increased demand" pop-up appearing 24/7, no matter what day of the week or what time of the day in the past 2 weeks whenever I checked the fares (what costs 100 Baht on Uber costs now 180 Baht on GRAB). https://www.cnbc.com/2018/02/16/uber-preparing-to-sell-southeast-asia-unit-to-grab.html
February 17, 20188 yr Good riddance - their surcharge pricing when people need them the most is pure greed.
February 17, 20188 yr Not so good news as the official taxi crooks will be back to their usual tricks

Either that, or a shift in the supply/demand equilibrium during peak hours? Or should the drivers be mandated to work faster or at lower rates during peak times?
February 21, 20188 yr As has been guessed, as has been GUESSED!!!! That's the only basis for that post, no evidence presented to support the statement??? Until something from Uber headquarters and from a legitmate source is presented then I for one think this is a load of manure.

Yes, because taxi drivers in Thailand are never greedy are they? They always abide by the law, taking you to your chosen destination after turning on their meter.....
