February 21, 20188 yr Can anyone recommend where I can find a structural engineer to do a report on a house with regards to cracks appearing in walls etc. Thanks in advance
February 21, 20188 yr Can't help with an engineer I'm afraid, but if the house is of conventional Thai construction (pole and beam) the walls are not load-bearing and any cracking will be purely cosmetic. If you have cracks in the columns or beams then you need an engineer. "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
February 21, 20188 yr Any company building a large multi storey structure should be able to help you. Or try an architect firm. As Crossy says, if it's just the walls, that wouldn't be a problem if not load bearing. I used a cold chisel and hammer to open up the big ones in my house, and used filler to close them ( if you don't, various wildlife will take up occupation ), and if it was just a crack I didn't do anything.
February 21, 20188 yr Go to the CMU Engineering Faculty and ask to speak with the head of the Mechanical Engineering department. They can be very helpful.

Mechanical Engineering is a broad profession that can include anything from structural mechanics, to thermodynamics, to metallurgy, to computer programming.
February 21, 20188 yr Would help if the OP posted some photos of the problem, so we know if it's serious or not. Posters can help themselves by giving more information.
February 21, 20188 yr If in Mae Rim, by any chance, then yes I can give you a super competent, honest guy. Usually you have to find someone in your locale, because the good ones are too busy to travel far for mere inspection.
