Emmanuel Okwuduyli Ilichukwu was arrested in Suksawat Soi 26 on two warrants yesterday. A force led by deputy tourist police commissioner Surachet Hakpal went to his property where they found a quantity of ganja in a food cupboard. Surachet told the media that the Thais had been working with the DEA to arrest the Nigerian. He had been on their radar but managed to avoid capture before. He had made frequent trips from Bangkok to Nigeria and was involved in packaging cocaine in plastic and hiding it in electrical appliances. The drugs found their way to Australia and New Zealand. He was using Bangkok as a base and also dealing drugs in the Thai capital, reported Thai Rath. He has been charged with possession and intent to distribute a class 2 drug (cocaine). That's the bottle for the urine sample and they're coaching him to pee with everyone watching. Bashful bladder, you know. 1

Kaoboi Bebobp
It's always amusing to me to see how many officers RTP can cram into a photo op during an arrest, most of which probably have nothing to do with the case. They all look like they just stepped out of their air-con offices. 1

foxboy
The stats do seem to demonstrate a strong connection with the Nigerian 'tourists' and drug dealing in Bangkok. The prison population of Nigerians in Bangkok for drug offences is ridiculously high too. Are the Thai police allowed to draw conclusions from this without being shouted down as racists, as I've seem on similar threads?
