Need to transfer some money from UK to Bangkok Bank.  Don't want to pay exorbitant charges and crap exchange rates.  Anyone offer any suggestions?

Depending on the amount, either a money transfer service or SWIFT transfer in STERLING from a UK bank.

Some of the money transfer services have low limits and require ID checks for money laundering purposes, however, you can get an idea of the rates and charges on their websites.

A SWIFT transfer will cost £10-30 or so in UK bank charges and if you send in Sterling, the receiving bank charges at the Thai end are around 0.25% with a maximum of 500 Baht at most banks.

Your money will be converted at the TT Rate.

Thanks for these - and apologies for the wrong forum - was talking about my retirement visa money, but didn't make that clear.

What about transfer back to the UK?  Transferwise seems not to do that.   Am I limited to Bank Transfer only?

Money sent from Thailand doesn't appear on xendpay either, I suspect it's a local Thai rule.

U could cash out what's in your bank and change it at an exchange if your going back.
