The forward command of Internal Security Operations Command (Isoc) Region 4 has accused a civil network of making distorted statement to discredit the government and tarnish Thailand’s reputation in the eyes of the international community.

Col Pramote Prom-in, spokesman of the forward command of Isoc Region 4,  said Saturday (March 3) that the statement issued on Friday by the so-called Ad Hoc Network to Civilian Protection and Freedom of Expression was a deliberate distortion of facts with a motive to discredit the government and to shame the country in the world’s arena.

In summation, the civic group’s statement said that the situation in the Deep South has not improved as claimed by the Thai security authorities but, on the contrary, has worsened, with freedom of expression in public blocked.

When they criminalize torture and disappearance, stop abusing their own young man and end defamation suits on citizens, the military may have a reputation that could stand up to scrutiny.

the larger article details the civic group's reasons for their statement; those reasons seem solid;

by contrast, ISOC touts out this tiresome 'thailand reputation' accusation, as it they were qualified to predict thailand's reputation in the eyes of the international community

We all know what 'Thailand's reputation' is around the world - and it sure ain't one of moral probity, uprightness and integrity!

This bunch of freedom-smashers and truth-haters just keep digging themselves ever deeper into a hole (their own future grave?) by their idiotic, truth-reversing and truth-suppressing words and actions. They will never learn - until it is too late (for them) ...

Thailand's international reputation?

How many in the world even know about Thailand or care.

Best not to look into the CSOC's (ISOC's predecessor) history and "reputation" in the South, and NE.

How many of these knuckle draggers are there? Every day, there's a new one with dead eyes and morally bankrupt threats for people trying to actually improve things.

I would imagine a government taken by the power of the gun should tarnish Thailand's International reputation enough.

That is the delusion of the Thai military and the power elite.  They take international apathy, tolerance, ignorance and disregard as acceptance.   Nobody wants to touch these people with a 10 foot pole.

What shame was brought to Thailand and ISOC when human trafficking kingpin (sic) army general and former senior officer with ISOC Manas Kongpan was arrested in 2015 and sentenced to 27 years (under appeal)? http://www.straitstimes.com/asia/se-asia/verdict-due-in-major-thai-human-trafficking-trial

Hardly on the same level as alleged distortion of facts.

Please can we have a "Shake head in disbelief" emoticon ?

On a daily basis we read this crap churned out by this false bunch of retards about it is their right to sue all and sundry that don't happen to follow the party line and actually they believe that they have the right to incarcerate and re educate anyone who opposes them.

Perhaps what we require is some sort of committee to define what "international reputation" really means.

Oops..I forgot..it's a "panel" nowadays.

I am simply astonished that anyone speaks out at all.

The rewards are meagre and the risk of personal/financial ruination is very high.
