Suvarnabhumi airport , smoking facilities.

I just flew out of the airport . I fancied a cigarette before checking in . To my surprise the normal smoking areas have been closed and an enclosed smoking room installed at the beginning of the departures , area A and I was told that it is the only facility for smokers . It is awful inside and I had 2 puffs and left the stench room. Not fully vented and police standing outside to catch any person smoking outside of the room and they caught one guy who was surrounded by police , pathetic . So smokers be warned and have your last smoke before going to the airport .

You know that stench that you didn't like? That's what most smokers smell like to non-smokers. One by-product of cigarette smoking is that the smoker loses a large percentage of their sense of smell,

Funny 😊 You don't like the smell that you are creating 😊 Perhaps that is the point of the exercise.

There is another one at the other end of departures, same thing but a bit less busy. Crazy to have an enclosed space outside of the building, the old open air areas away from the entrances should have been fine, but our own fault for being smokers I guess.

Also one at either end of the arrivals floor, and maybe even the ground floor too.

I understand that you are upset that you can no longer pollute the air of non smoking bystanders.

You can choose to cry about it or laugh about it or try to take it out on those who choose to laugh about it.

But I wont be using them for sure . Its a bad move by the airport management to expect people to use these poorly vented rooms . They are disgusting facilities .

For long flights, I used to get nicotine patches. It worked well.

In this heat and humidity, getting into an elevator with a smoker becomes an exercise in breath-holding.

You didn't like the smell, so you left that little room. But that doesn't help the rest of us who don't smoke when you choose to smoke around us. Then WE have to smell it too. Do you think that's fair?

I don't smoke so why should I have to inhale your deadly habit. I knew a lady whose husband smoked, and she didn't and she died of secondhand smoke of lung Cancer.

The miracle Lounge right after immigration has giant smoking garden.

The doctors ruled out genetics, biology, workplace, and medical exposures and found that the cause was secondhand smoke?

The constant whinging from the Karen non-smokers does get under one's skin after a while.

Of course they are angry! Most wish they weren't addicted, but are and put up with standing outside in the rain because they NEED to satisfy the nicotine receptors in the brain. NEED to... not want to. That used to make me angry too, but I wouldn't admit it back then.

So we keep shoving you into hamster cages in airports to smoke. I'll bet that really pisses you off! LOL! Hey, keep smoking, keep stinking, keep on telling yourself you like it. Tell us again. We hear ya. 😂

What about the whinging from the Karen smokers? Does that bother you equally?

I actually enjoy the smoking rooms; the smells my clothing absorbs increases tenfold and enhance the in-flight experience for the passengers who sit near me.

If they whine, I remind them that they are the reason why smoking rooms exist!

Take a look at the OP and then continue to read the rest of the thread. You might even find a post or two from your good self there.

They/you only complain when other people annoy them, but are somehow outraged when people might be annoyed by the imposition of the smoke entering their atmosphere.

Karma...

Good reason for me a bulb of garlic when flying, so I can chomp on it and talk to you throughout the flight at the most inopportune moments 😊

That's why some of us gave up smoking, in my case 10 years ago — extremely unhealthy inside the smoking room in a Thai airport, I didn't even manage to lit a cigarette before I had to leave — it's much easier not to smoke...

Please smoke another carton. A day, if you wish to. Your smoking only bothers me if you are near enough to smell. And believe me, non-smokers can smell you coming. We can always walk away from the stench. It’s a shame you don’t get a choice.

You got me there.

Back in 2015 I suffered a minor stroke.

99% recover within 6 months, but here we are 11 years later, and my sense of smell has still left the chat.
