mok199 Posted March 5, 2018 Share Posted March 5, 2018 headline should read ''some thai movies'',i have seen some very good thai films,unfortunatley the genre is normally ghost and spirits,but they seem to have nailed that, the same with music, Thailand has great talent,unfortunatley I feel the thai langauge really limit the artists abilty to express themselves and rhym, as most thai words of feeling end with ''jai'' ,the lyrics are so so repititious..but do not watch ''Thailands next top chef''..,how many ways can you cretique ''pad thai''??... The first one filmed in 2003 is a bit raw, but the 2nd one in 2008 and 3rd in 2010 were quite good. And 2008 "Somtum" was alright. They were all over the place and don’t get me started on the comedy. In one comedy I watched here a man who seemed to be mentally challenged said he was going to the toilet to eat. His friend informed him that the toilet is where you go to make number 2s. Not where you go to eat. Audience in the cinema were in stitches. I put it down to being lost in translation. Well, there were a few horror movies made by 2 Thai guys in around 2005 Shutter and Alone which were quite good. Shutter got a USA remake which was quite horrible. However, being Asian films, in the end real life eventuates, sadly, not Hollywood happy endings. Worst 2 films made in Thailand that I've seen were the atrocious "Bangkok Dangerous" with Nicholas Cage and the abominable "The Hangover" Pt 2.
