Expiry expired visa when you're in your country

Featured Replies

Hi! I would like information on this unusual case, in June I should go back to my country (Italy) and return to Thailand in September but my visa extension expires in July. can someone give me information about my case? I tried to contact immigration but to no avail ... they do not answer
Thanks for the attention

You can try to extend your permission to stay in June before you leave the country (then, of course, getting a re-entry permit). Some offices will let you apply up to 45 days early, and friendly offices might even allow more if you explain the situation. Failing this, you will need to start again with a visa, permission to stay and extension.

And information as to how you might be able to obtain the necessary visa from the Royal Thai Embassy in Rome is at:

IMHO I would not gamble with it. If you can't get your extension to stay early, stick around until you can.

We all have to jump through the Immigration hoops.

I might be wrong but I believe my retirement visa is put on hold from the time I report leaving the country till the day I return. Does that sound correct?
