A Czech Republic tourist was left with bloody wound to both cheeks after an incident at the We are No 1 A Go Go bar on Pratumknak Road near Jomtien just 100 meters from the police booth.

Rescue medics found Robert Negas, 38, covered in blood inside the bar.

Manager Anuwat Bunkert, 39, said that four tourists were eating and drinking and when it came to closing time they refused to pay the 1,380 bill.

He claimed that the victim attacked a staff member who defended himself with an ashtray. Then a melee ensued.

The victims was taken to Pattaya Memorial for stitches. He was drunk.

Police told Pattaya News they would wait until he was out of hospital before getting to the bottom of what really happened.

  • Did you ever consider that they tried to collect a hugely inflated price, but then told the police that it was only 1300?

  • Gosh why didn't they just call in "Dave"......Tourist Police officer extraordinaire---Sorted.....

  • Clearly, a Czech bill issue here.

Was there a dispute on the amount of the bill?

Only 1,380 baht. If there was 4 of them on the same bill that is only a couple of drinks each!

Aye, hard way to learn

drunk and not paying the bill, in a foreign country; pretty stupid, hard to swallow anything this guy said

1380 divided by 4. That´s 345 baht each??? Good Work! Maybe it was that silly irritating 20 baht tip that made him mental.

How can you defend yourself with an ashtray? On the other hand, you could certainly use one to attack someone.

The good thing over pattaya is, in a little more than 30years in Pattaya, i was not ONCE overcharged.......... drunk or not NEVER

and NEVER any bigger issue

thats the good thing over pattaya

but to to a lack of income, due to evryday new crackdowns, lwas and enforcment, this maybe  will change  .......

less imcome= more sheeting,more violance,more ciminality,higher prices,and less fun

ihope all this bullshit will stop , but goverment not intrested, and due to social media more and more shit is comming

PS by the way i never had or run a Bar,,,,,but if so, their would be many many customer i would tick them something on the head for their low class beaviour , day by day!!

Would like to hear the Tourist version of what happened

1,380 is not a large bill for 4 people.

So i smell BS from the management.

Anyway, attacking tourists, the place should be closed. :bah:

Given that smoking is against the law in venues serving food and drink, why does the venue have one available for the staff member to grab, let alone one large enough to be considered a viable weapon?

As to the bill they were disputing, I will give short odds on the quoted amount being shy one digit. so in the range of 13800 plus, or X1380.

You have to expect to get over charged in go-go bars expecially in the low season- if there still is one.

So it appears to be their fault. If you dont like it then dont go to  sleazy gogo bars expecially in Pattaya.

I went to gogo bars in Patpong many years ago and whenever there was a dispute over  the bill  Thai boy punks would appear from behind curtains or wait out on the street as backup.

One time i was expecting  200 baht change  , they ignore you for ages hoping you'll forget and walk out. I didnt. This Thai punk with a stupid bow tie eventually rolled up with a tray containing 20 x 10 baht coins and expected me to give him all of it as it was 'loose change'. I scooped it all up and walked out. They will try anything to rip you off. They think farangs are  desperate suckers who have an obligation to look after these soi creeps.

Havent been to agogo bar since about 2003.  Havent missed it one bit. Waste of time and money.

in another country , in a big disco, i saw many times customer making trouble, and every single issue was made by the customer, and not by staff........

they make this better ...3 securitygards knock knock............ take the suspicous outside in a corner............

and evry single customer , was thanksfull to clear the bill after

and sure was welcomed again , and behaviour changed

and really i feel save in this plce , if not ohhh my  dios!!!

i would never stay here, if it would be like that

told you   30 years = NO ISSSUES

ohh ja.one time i had samein patpong , some argue about 200, once and thats it, issue ?? NO....... i forget that , until you write it here

Pattaya again making news headlines - for all the wrong reasons.

- - - - - - - - -

on a side (court) note.....

When Czech tennis star was playing an Aussie star named Cash, in a championship match...

A fan held up a hand-painted sign in the stands;

Cash is better than a check

Thais do not hit innocent foreigners. I assume that some Ping Pong Balls hit them accidentally.

Doesn't seem like an unreasonable bill for 4 people in a gogo.

3 small beers each would cost that.

You are the only one who picked that up. Congratulations.  :)  I noticed it right away. If there was smoking in on the premises, the   establishment is subject to a 20,000 baht fine and the individual smokers, 2,000 baht.

The ashtray was for hitting people with , it wasnt used for ash and no smoking took place

Eating & drinking till closing time 1380 THB. Very suspicious. Should have called the BIB they might not have saved much but they wouldn't have got a kicking.

Maybe 1380baht each.

Just sayin'.

Edit

Maybe the way a 1 is written here, sometimes it can look like a 7, especially if you're drunk.

Four people eating and drinking till closing time.

So drunk.

1380 Baht!?

Can't be a No 1 GoGo

No seriously, something is wrong here with the amount.

True, 1380 is way too much spent to watch that dog show.

Always pay your bills and if you are a group of 4 people and think you get overcharged 1 could just go or call after tourists police

I have been there meny times never had any problems

I went there maybe half-a-dozen times and never was.

After six years in Thailand, I have never been to a Go-Go bar maybe I should see a doctor?
