Age not an issue in Phuket light aircraft crash, say police

PHUKET: Thalang Police have confirmed that the 67-year age of the captain flying the light aircraft which crashed on Saturday (Mar 11), killing him and a Flying Officer, is not an issue of legal concern.

 

“Cpt Wattana Tinphang-Nga (67) was not too old to drive an aircraft by law. It is like driving a car, once you have a license and experience there is no age limit. Plus, it was his personal aircraft,” said Lt Col Anukul Nuket, Deputy Chief of the Thalang Police.

 

“Police have completed the process compiling the evidence, however, we are still waiting for the Aircraft Investigation Committee (AIC) to complete their investigation before any conclusions.
