There are alcoholics. Most are fine but some are bad news. I can see a guy who has been arrested 3 times for being drunk and getting in a fight as a man who needs to be forceably medicated to keep him off alcohol. In this particular case he is a harm to society.

But if he wants to wake up everyday and get toasted for breakfast and can manage to flip a burger and pay his rent, I say leave him alone.

So your idea is since alcohol is leagl and grass is not this is right and the way it should be. Once was you could own slaves in most parts of the world.

Making drugs illegal only increase property crimes and requires more taxes to pay for the jails and jailers. Not to mention the police and courts.

Right now in teh United States 60% of the people in jail are there for drugs. 2 millions people costs the US 100 billion per year. takes 2 million people out of teh work force and out of consuming. Takes another 1 million people out of teh work force producing goods and services to catch, try and jails those 2 million.

Price of your beer, gas, rent and blowjobs would all be cheaper.

And do not give me the dying BS, every one of us is going to die and more people die in cars in one day around the world than by drugs in a year.

yes there is a rave scene, or rather a bunch of crazy nightclubbers, seeing as actually raves get busted pretty quickly. i'd check out narcissus or ministry of sound or q bar all on sukhumvit to meet some club kids

Not being a pedantic (sp?) bastard but a rave can encompass any fast beat music not just Techno, such like psi trance, gabba, hardcore, dnb + many more. They are not always underground as well, they can be in clubs + other commercial venues.

From reading other peoples posts demonising ravers, its a load of poop, from my experiance ravers are some of the most open minded, friendly people (not always due to drugs ).

Very true - there are the big commercial raves such as Gatecrasher, Two Tribes etc (which I don't believe have hit these shores - but I could be wrong).

Personally the rave scene doesn’t do it for me, but have been to one or two in my time, so have some idea what they’re about . Can’t say I’ve seen a rave scene in Thailand like the one that exists in the west. Went to a full moon party on hat rin a few years ago, and that’s exactly what it was, a big party on the beach – which seemed to occur there every night but with less people and less fuss .

there IS Rave scene. Just talk with the RIGHT (local) ppl and they will tel you about it. Samui as well as Bkk (as mentioned earlier: Narcissus Club, Sukhomvit). Going to a (real good) Rave does not necessarily mean drugs (at least: you in person are not at all obliged to consume the drugs). Simply enjoying the music is hip as well. Did so 3 times on Berlin Rave Parade. And I am definitely not on drugs

Very true - there are the big commercial raves such as Gatecrasher, Two Tribes etc (which I don't believe have hit these shores - but I could be wrong).

Personally the rave scene doesn’t do it for me, but have been to one or two in my time, so have some idea what they’re about . MadFrankie that’s old school thinking true the original raves where underground events, but times have changed. Everyone has jumped on the bandwagon and is riding the rave cash cow – the underground scene is still around but it’s the commercial events that get all the attention, esp from many people who like to call themselves “ravers” (sociologists have even identified them as having their own sub-culture encompassing all these scenes)
