i am from the uk and i have a tourist visa triple. which means i can stay here for 60 days leave the country and come back and get another 60 days twice it think. total of 180 days.

i heard that its possible to renew your visa in bangkok instead of doing a visa run to another country. is this true. if so how do i do this.

if not where is the quickest and cheapest place to do the visa run.

You can not renew but you can obtain a 30 day extension of a 60 day stay with payment of 1,900 baht at an immigration office.

You have 6 months to use your entries so you can do 60/exit/60/exit/60 or you could do 60+30/exit/60+2x/exit (enter while 6 month visa valid) 60+30.

Lopburi - some countries get 60 days in airport? Before I always had 60 days, but now (last 2 entries) I got only 30 days (TR visa from thai embassy).

ah ok thanks for the info. It must have been the 1,900 bhart 30 extension someone had mentioned.

So it look like i will probably exit the country to get the 60 day pass. As i am living in bangkok is it better to go to ranong (Bhurma) or to cambodia if i want to do this in one day. Which would be cheaper? Or is there somewhere else i could go?

Cambodia is much closer. You can take a bus to Aranyaprathet / Poi Pet from Mo Chit bus station for about 200 baht one way. Or you could use a visa run service. I recommend Thai Visa Run (www.thaivisarun.com), very friendly and efficient. The trip will cost 2,000 baht including the Cambodian visa. Leaves at 9:30am from Ekkamai and returns at around 6:00pm.

If you have a few days Ranong is a nice trip, but it will take at least 8 hours each way.
