Trump Admin Revokes Harvard’s Right to Enroll International Students
The ban isn't targetted. It treats all non-US passport holders the same, including Israeli citizens. Harvard is barred from enrolling any new internatonal students, including those from Israel. In addition, students currently in attendance, will have to find another place at another university. Those on a F1 visa are attending taught undergraduate or graduate courses. They have 60 days to settle their affairs. J1 students have 30 days. CNN's interpretation for J1 is wrong. It's particularly tough for that latter group, because most would be postdoctoral research associates and fellows; essentially they lose their jobs These include Fulbright scholars. Some will be lecturers at the university, so this will also impact the training of the future American leadership (about one third of the current cabinet are Harvard graduates). Its important to understand that a J1 visa is a nonimmigrant exchange visa. It cannot normally be converted to a H-visa without extraordinary petitioning of government. Its a visa category specifically created to spread US influence around the world. I was one, once, in Alabama. But I am debating with someone who holds a cartoon drug dealer as a role model. -

Reports indicate that Thaksin, the de facto Pheu Thai head, refuses to vacate the political sphere despite subtle nudges from elite circles. Instead, he’s determined to secure the political future of the "puppet" Thailand's Prime Minister Paetongtarn, with whom he's tightly allied. He’s convinced, as articulated by a partisan source, that neither he nor his daughter would succumb to external pressure by stepping down or dissolving the House. As his latest drama unfolds, Thaksin stands accused of orchestrating a 2023 hospital fake-out to escape prison time under the guise of severe illness. This elaborate ruse, involving high-level Corrections Department officials and cunning exploitation of legal loopholes, granted him an extended stay at a Police Hospital luxury wing. The court has scheduled his hearing for June 13, where he may face penalties for contempt and legal infractions tied to past corruption convictions. Despite swirling speculation about his courtroom appearance, sources insist Thaksin will remain on Thai soil while observing his trial from elsewhere. A parallel legal ordeal awaits in July regarding a lese majeste charge, which traces back to his 2015 claims linking the monarchy to the 2006 coup during an interview with a Seoul news outlet. Thaksin’s vast financial and political influence is believed to have facilitated his freedom from prison. Unofficial reports suggest he's crafted intricate backdoor deals to facilitate his desired political landscape. His efforts purportedly include the controversial exclusion of the Move Forward party from post-election arrangements and its subsequent replacement with the Pheu Thai-led coalition, comprising former political adversaries. Crime Bomb Hoax Grounds AirAsia Plane in Phuket

An AirAsia flight was thrown into chaos on the afternoon of 23 May, after a 63 year old Thai passenger allegedly made a bomb threat shortly before takeoff, prompting the aircraft to stop its scheduled departure at Phuket International Airport. Flight FD3092, bound for Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport, was scheduled to depart at 15:10. However, the Airbus A321 aircraft, carrying 200 passengers, was forced to move to a secure area of the airport at 15:17 after a male passenger reportedly claimed there was a bomb in an overhead luggage compartment. The captain immediately followed standard aviation security protocols and alerted air traffic control, triggering an emergency response. The aircraft was directed to Isolated Parking Bay 99, where all passengers were evacuated and subjected to security screening. Phuket Airport activated its Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) and coordinated a thorough investigation in collaboration with airport security, AirAsia staff, provincial police and the tourist police. All baggage and the aircraft were inspected meticulously. Authorities later confirmed that no suspicious or dangerous items were found. Passengers were offered refreshments during the delay, and the airline provided regular updates. The individual responsible for the false alarm was detained and denied further travel. AirAsia confirmed that it intends to pursue legal action in accordance with aviation laws due to the passenger’s “inappropriate behaviour”. A spokesperson for Phuket Airport reiterated that the emergency bomb threat protocol, based on strict ICAO standards, was followed without compromise to ensure the safety of all on board. After receiving the all-clear, flight FD3092 was rescheduled to depart at approximately 19:00, arriving in Bangkok at around 20:30. In a statement issued later, AirAsia apologised for the disruption, adding: “The safety of our passengers and crew is our utmost priority. We appreciate the patience and understanding of our guests during this time.” The incident has once again highlighted the serious legal consequences of making false threats aboard commercial flights.
