30 day Visa on arrival

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, at the moment I'm doing my internship with an Education Visa in Thailand. Since it will extend soon, I would like to leave the country only for a few hours over Mea Sot. Did someone here applied as a German Passport holder for the Tourist Visa on arrival? And did you get a 15 or 30 days stay? Thanks a lot in advance for any advice and answers!

German passport holders can not get visa on arrival.

You can get a visa exempt entry for 30 days twice per calendar year over land crossings.

do you mean it will end soon??

I have heard you can get 6 Visa excemptions a year 30 days each by air but only 15 day ones by land. But everyone has a different story about it no one seems to know the rules.

All the "regular" visa exempt entries (i.e. other than those that are part of a bilateral agreement) are now for 30 days. This is regardless of whether they are by land or by air, and whether you are from a G7 country. However, by land, you are only entitled to two visa exempt entries per calendar year. By air, there is no explicit limit, but immigration officials are given discretion in deciding when people are overusing them.
