Pheu Thai Assembles To Reconfirm Membership

Pheu Thai Party elders gather Wednesday morning at party headquarters in Bangkok's Huai Khwang district.

 

BANGKOK — Top leaders and members of Pheu Thai Party converged on their headquarters in Bangkok today to reaffirm their membership as required by a new election law.

 

Those attending the registration process include party chairman Viroj Pao-in, former prime minister Somchai Wongsawat, veteran politico Sanoh Thienthong and party secretary-general Phumtham Wechayachai.

Look just at the front row, a meeting of scaly dinosaurs, most of whom have dominated Thai politics for decades but have contributed very little to the country, just what Thailand needs desperately to be rid of.

 

Come and reaffirm your membership. I wonder how many of them turned up and asked a specific question  'if I reaffirm will I continue to get the monthly salary from the paymaster?'

 

Even if that's illegal does anybody believe it will stop? 

 

And Phumtham said recently that the party has decided they don't want the paymaster to be involved in the next election. Who believes that? The 'party' doesn't make such decisions, but no doubt the paymaster told them to say that they had decided.

 

What's the old saying; You can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all of the people all of the time. 

 

Bring on the young guys, give them votes, let them try, hopefully they will make the dinosaurs (from all parties) irrelevant.
