Internet idol Kannikar “DJ Katoy” Namwicha was among six patrons who tested positive for illegal drug use after a raid on a Pattaya nightclub early Wednesday morning.

Bang Lamung district police and municipal officials descended on the Burn Club on Soi Bua Khao at 4am checking for underage patrons and evidence of drug use.

Kannikar, 24, who has more than 200,000 followers on Facebook and was working at the club as a DJ, was among six people whose urine tests showed signs of drug use.

She reportedly confessed to police that she had taken ketamine three days earlier.

Club manager Anapat Reung-urai, 50, was charged with keeping the club open too late, operating without a permit and selling alcohol beyond the legal time period.

Is that how they perform drug tests? Various cups of piss all over a table? No gloves? Not very hygienic.

Apparently you have not seen the finger in the nose phenomenon that can strike at a moments notice... anytime, anywhere, by anyone.

Ketamine a medicine 555555555555555555555555

They put horses and buffaloes to sleep with it

It's used on humans as well in many places around the world, is listed by the WHO as an essential medicine (http://www.who.int/medicines/access/controlled-substances/recommends_against_ick/en/)  and is increasingly being used as a treatment for depression https://health.ucsd.edu/news/features/Pages/2018-01-03-q-and-a-ketamine-for-depression.aspx

Drug test???   No, you have it all wrong.  It is a taste test!

That is, to find out whose tastes better.

She said ketamine cuz its medicine. Yaba is a narcotics.

She looks like a human. I don't believe that she would be able to justify the use of a  veterinary grade anesthetic. However, in the off chance  that she had undergone surgery, she would be able to point to her catheter marks. Ketamine as used in human surgery is an injectable. However, it is not commonly used.  Sniffing, snorting, swallowing is a non acceptable use and is reflective of  illegal use. This would be tantamount to admitting the  illegal use.

For a few baht, I'm sure she can get some doctor to back date a prescription for one of the accepted human uses like treating depression.

Even if it takes a while to find one, she can play the typical game where she delays showing up at the cop shop again and again while she fabricates gathers up the evidence she needs.

Regarding the above squabble over Pattaya Plod doing their job.  The ONLY reason a place gets raided is when insufficient funds are diverted to soi 9.  The police here are bandits who intimidate and stifle business.

I visit a number of bars during a Quiz season; all are forced to pay 'protection' money.   A friend's bar closed because he could not afford the 24,000 baht a month demanded by the local 'law enforcement team'.

Meanwhile Pattaya taxis are allowed to ignore the law of the land as they are obviously paying enough.

What has to be paid generally depends on what the bar is doing wrong and which laws it flouts.   Bars that do not break any laws pay very little compared to serious transgressors and those small amounts are paid without complaint to ensure a helpful service from the police if they ever need it.
