Is Longan Herbal Cream Safe for Long Term Use?

I've been using this stuff every day for about a week and it works very well for my arthritis (hips/spine).

 

I can't find any information on long term use.  The package info is in Thai.

 

The reason I ask is I have read NSAID's and even NSAID gel can cause heart problems if used long term.  Both work well for me, but I need something for everyday use for long term

And I don't think there are any that do.

 

For that matter, what was tested in that article and how much active ingrediant is in this cream may not be at all the same...these products are not subject to the same testing as pharmacologic preparations.

 

There is nothing in the literature to support the idea that long term use of  topical NSAIDs increases risk of cardiac problems, though there are admittedly few studies of long term gel use.  In general topical NSAIDs have much fewer side effects than oral and a much better risk:benefit profile.
