I have a European passport with many SETV. Does anyone have recent experience with applying for a SETV at the Thai Consulate in Kota Bharu?

I cannot provide a definitive current answer as the situation in Malaysia seems to be in a state of flux. A year ago, it would not have been a problem to get a couple of SETVs from Kota Bharu.

I wondered about that too. The recent clampdown in Penang we've heard about recently (red stamps, limited number of visas per day...), is that because of a directive from the embassy in KL, or is Penang making up these procedures as they go?

 

If it is a 'Penang thing', I would give it a go, but with KL as 'plan B'. However, if it is a directive from KL, probably time and money wasted.
