Hi

Firstly, Happy Songkran to all of this forum.

Secondly, my husband and I left Thailand three days ago for a tour in the region.

At the immigration office in Don Meaung airport, we paid 2400 baht in total for two single entry re-entry permits (1200 baht for one). However the amount stated on each official receipt is 1000 baht.

When we asked why, the immigration officer explained that if we brought our own forms and supplied our own photos, the cost would be 1000 baht per permit. The additional 200 baht per permit is for paperwork and a photo taken using their webcam.

Is this official procedure or is he trying to earn some quick buck during Songkran?

I understand the cost of a multiple entry re-entry permit is 3000 baht? What will the cost be if the immigration officer does the paperwork and the taking of photo? Is it 3200 or 3600 baht?

Both airports in Bangkok have a service charge of 200 baht to do the photos, copies and etc.

The fee for a multiple re-entry permit is 3800 baht. With the service charge it would be 4000 baht.
