I currently have a non o visa which expires shortly, but before it does i intend to do a border run and hopefully get another 90 day entry and 60 days or so into that (seasoning period for the about to be transfered top up funds ) apply for a yearly retirement extension.

My question is, is that possible being that my non o will actually have expired when i apply for the retirement extension even though i will hopefully still be legally in Thailand with my last 90 day entry?

" currently have a non o visa which expires shortly, but before it does i intend to do a border run and hopefully get another 90-day entry  "  You will only get another 90-day entry if you have a multiple entry visa.  It is the permission to stay stamp which is of importance -not the expiry date of the visa- So if you obtain another 90 stay - making application for an extension during the last 30 days of that stay should not be a problem.

The seasoning period for the funds is 60 days for the first extension after entry with Non-O visa.

So after entry you have max. 30 days to transfer/fill the account.

As previous post: it sounds like you have a Non-O multi and will enter (border run) before/on the ENTER BEFORE date.

If done so, it does not matter that the visa is expired when you apply for extension.

As it’s a first 1 year extension of stay you probably won’t be able to apply until within the last 30 days of the 90.

You are extending your permission to stay so it doesn’t matter that the ‘visa’ used to enter the country has expired.
