Video: Woman kicked in the head after molestation claim - but they were all sober

A video from Songkran celebrations in Chonburi showed a woman in traditional dress try to board the back of a pick-up.

But she doesn't get very far - she is kicked in the head by a man and sprawls onto the tarmac.

A melee breaks out as fists and water containers fly.

Daily News online contacted those who were there. The daughter of the woman who was kicked said that the person who did it was a friend of some employees celebrating on the truck.

She claimed the man had been molesting a female relative and didn't like being told off.

They ended up at the police station in Koh Chan district where it happened.

The man was given a warning according to Kanphat Phuangthong, 32.

Kanphat disputed comments online that everyone was obviously drunk saying in fact they were all sober.

The pathetic excuse of a man who did that needs a damn good thrashing.

Even though it doesn't excuse the really poor behaviour, I would hope that they were actually drunk, because these are really nasty people if they will behave like this when sober.

A Thai person kicks a woman in the head sprawling her o the road and gets away with a warning??

Just wondering what would've happened if that was a "farang" kicking a woman (any woman) in the head??

Asking for his head?

She did not float his boat but kicking the head is only acceptable when in a stupor

Its shocking that absolute proof (Video) is still not sufficient for the Police to file assault charges...

It has been mentioned that Songkran is the Thai equivalent of 'The Purge' [movie]... when I see behavior such as this and many of the examples of the disgusting behavior shown by a small proportion of Thai's over this period the lack adequate enforcement and penalties even in light of absolute evidence remains shocking - Parallels can indeed be drawn with 'The Purge'...

No way they are sober..

They're taking this traditional stuff too seriously. Just going back 50 years - costume and all is enough. There's really no need to act out 50,000 BC.

& no thought of an investigation into the molesting of the female relative (obviously don't want to know unless she makes a report )

An English guy kicked his Thai wife to death the other day, seems like they are asking for his head.

He deserves to lose his head, as does the coward on the 4 x 4

I thought it was a 10000 baht fine for molesting a woman this year or was that only if s farang was doing it?

looks like the bloke that did it took a couple of kicks, and punches himself which is good i guess. really worrying that the guy thinks it's ok to just kick some woman in the head like that

Thai men are over the ladies in this country

If you can kick a lady in head and no consequences that tell me Thai men is a lower race than soi dogs

Scumbag

I think he got some punishment off all the others. The kicked lady got up and dished some out herself too.

Some of them looked Mao to me, likely the guy who kicked the woman was likely drunk, and the way he got beat, it may have been a good idea to be drunk as he would not feel the beating until he sobered up.

Sad..

Geezer

Happy  Happy Songkan!!  5555

Geezer

It's what Sonkran is all about: drive round pissed; knock a couple of women about; have a few unwelcome gropes .....oh and throw some water about as this legitimises in the eyes of the pathetic police.

A generalization post has been removed
