Military closely monitors movement of disciples of five senior monks implicated in temple fund fraud

The military is closely monitoring reaction by disciples and followers of the five senior monks implicated in  temple fund embezzlement but so far there was no unusual movement.

This was disclosed yesterday by spokesman for the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) Maj Gen  Piyaphong Klinphan after Pol Lt-Col Pongporn Pramsaneh, the director of the National Office of Buddhism, filed a complaint with the National Anti-Corruption Commission against the five senior monks accusing them of corruption.

The five senior monks include three Sangha Council members namely Phra Promdilok, abbot of Wat Sam Phraya; Phra Prommethi, assistant abbot of Wat Samphanthawong; and Phra Promsit, abbot of Wat Saket; Phra Methisuthikorn, assistant abbot of Wat Saket; and Phra Vichitthammaporn, assistant abbot of Wat Saket.

Maybe they'll watch them slip away over the nearest border. That's usually how they deal with people who they deem a threat.

They learnt everything they know from roman catholicism.

Let us all pray they never become as adept at child abuse as perpetrated by some of their 'disciples'.

I wont say all of them as some on here  ( not all ) are wont to label all thais .

Simply not true. Only 10% of Thais are Christian. Christian culture is guilt based. Thai culture is shame based. Christianity is a religion with a god. Buddhism is belief system with no God.

Wasn't the catholics.  The "how to" course they attended is widely available from Amway.  The guest lecturer is a well known celebrity and subject matter expert by the name of Bernie Madoff.

Also available for download from Amazon, use code "SCAM" for 20% off if you order in the next 5 minutes.

Anyone interested in Buddhism in Thailand should go tour the Forest Temples, the smaller the better. That's the real deal...

Shame based? Then why are they never wrong and it's always someone else's fault?

Baht is God in local Buddhism!
