No work permits....Great ! Give Thailand a taste of its own medicine. Som naam naa....

Did you read the article?  They were smuggled in illegally under false promises, the ring leaders are looking at 15 years while the Thai prostitutes are being treated as the victims they are.  How do you equate this with Thailand's work permit requirement and why do you think Thailand deserves revenge for having a completely normal system of requiring that foreign workers only be employed if they do not take Thai jobs?

What is the world coming to?

Have you ever encountered a German prostitute?

"The hills are alive to the sound of panzers.."

... as opposed to:

"The hills are alive to the sound of Tuk-Tuks"

Germany has more prostitutes percapita than Thailand, Hamburg is the hot spot in Europe, rather than as foreign tourists probably think, Amsterdam.

Yes, by 4 more workers per 10,000 people than Thailand.

In 2014 Top list of Countries with highest sex workers per 10,000 people:

  1. Venezuela

  6. China

  9. Germany

10. Thailand

Another way of looking at it, Germany has 100,000 more prostitutes than Thailand.

I flat out don't believe 15,000 German cops were involved in such a relatively small operation.

The numbers must be a part of fiction.

150 or incredibly perhaps 1500 but NOT 15,000!

I doubt Germany has so many. Cops are in short supply there.  A German paper talked about 1500 which included a no. of special units.

do the Thai authorities give a toss about those women or do they really only care about the bad publicity. i think the latter

Plus it's a good opportunity to gwet your face in front of a few cameras.

I'm with you, I don't see that arrests in Germany have anything at all to do with the police in Thailand.

Some arrested were Thai nationals and alleged at least one of the organisers is Thai. Human trafficking of prostitutes is as evil as sex slavery, absolutely RTP have a role in investigations / arrests in the supply chain. Whether RTP will do their job, uncontaminated by 'influential people', is an open question.

As always, but  my cynicism regarding RTP faces and cameras is not diminished.

Quite right. Thailand is a paradise, no stupidities here, only a population of hard-working and super-intelligent Thais and a few foreigners who don't recognise perfection when they see it.

What?  We were talking about Thai Labour law, they don't allow low skilled foreigners to come here and take their jobs, you conflate that with paradise, is that by any chance because it would be your paradise if only you could do your low skilled job here?

Remain calm. You don't know me or anything about me, and it's only a game anyway.

It must be 1500 policemen i bet....get tired of the nation and Thai who can't count zero's.

I don't know if prostitutes pay tax in germany, if so as less as possible i bet.

But human trafficking and HIV is a real no go area....anyway, good that they did it...The German rescueteams were sent back after they arrived within 24 hrs after the big tsunami, they didn't have workpermits the Thai told them, so nach hause bitte, und schnell...

They were not just rescue teams who were sent home. A whole unit of a special forensic team, part of the police and government were sent home because they didn't have a work permit.

I left Takua Pa a few weeks before the Tsunami hit the area and when i drove back three weeks after the deadly waves, the specialist were already sent home.

The money Germany and other countries immediately donated disapeared in the usual pockets.

Only Thais are capable of doing something stupid like that. Sorry for being off, but that made my blood boil so many times.

He said immigration authorities would now examine the victims’ legal status to determine how long they could stay in Germany.

They won't receive three bowls of rice that's for sure. Would Thailand use Germany as an example, the country would be much better for expats in general.

"Forced" prositution.

Got there, found the Thais screwed them into unfavorable situation or payment issues.

Hard time believing each and every one did not know they were going abroad to have sex for money.

Get serious

Two things, Germany only gave 730,000 USD to Thailand, (via the UN Relief fund), so not such a great sum.

Secondly, where are your facts to back up your assertion that all the money donated to Thailand, (29.8 million USD), disappeared?
