Australian arrested for theft from Thai woman's bag in Walking Street

The Thai tourist police arrested a young Australian man who helped himself to the contents of a woman's bag while she was in the toilets at a Walking Street entertainment venue on Sunday morning.

 

The tourist cops were called in the early hours after a security guard who was alerted by the woman had stopped 21 year old Niyonsaba Olivier.

 

Thanyalak Nasuhai, 40, said she had just popped to the loo when she came out to be told by a friend that a dark skinned foreigner had stolen items from her bag. She was helped by the guards before police arrived.

 

Pattaya News called the Australian "the color of ink" in their headline.

 

Now he faces prosecution for theft.

As an Australian I can't emphasise how ironic this is. Major problem over here too.

According to that story - he found the bag in the toilet and was returning it ? So, are we to assume that either the lady used the gents loo or he used the ladies loo ?

The Pattaya News story is a bit lacking in detail but from this photo I'd say that's the bag in question he's got there.

 

 

Whether we can infer from this that he's accused of stealing the bag, as opposed to items from the bag (as implied by the Patttaya Post), I don't know, but it makes a hell of a difference to any credibility his story might hold.

Refugees get a lot plus whatever they take. He might actually work or folks do. Actually Africans tend to sit at either end of the scale; like there's the skilled immigrant doctor living very well, then there's the refugees knocking over jewelers and invading homes. Outrageous to call someone the color of ink! Very unprofessional reporting. How am I supposed to know what color of ink they mean?.

Plenty of Nigerian and Sudanese getting government handouts.

 I dont want to sound like as ass, but there is a huge problem with Somali gangs in Aus now.  I don't know if he is a true blue aussie and lived there all his life or what. But always read the same stuff happening everyday in Aus with these same skin color (again i am being a racist, but i dont know how to say it in a nicer way!).

Since Thais in general don't see snow, you would be referred too as the colour of milk i think!
