April 26, 20188 yr Can anyone recommend a good physiotherapist to treat Pelvic Floor Disorders? Since awareness about PFD seems to be fairly limited compared to more common disorders, I don't think just any local PT will do. In fact, I'm concerned that I may have to fly to my home country to have this treated, as I have no idea if PFD is even known in Thailand. Thanks for the suggestions. April 26, 20188 yr PT services are weak in Thailand and you are not going to find a Thai PT who has heard of it. Also, the type of PT best used for thsi entaisl a lot of biofeedback which is also not usual in Thai physio. Your best options here would be a western yoga instructor and/OR just google exercises (yoga and other) and biofeedback techniques on your own. If this is a self-diagnosis, you should first see a doctor to make sure it is correct, the symptoms of PFD can also be due to other problems. And PFD itself can sometimes be due to structural abnormalities (prolapse, fistula etc) that require surgical correction. A doctor would also be able to instruct you in basic pelvic floor exercises.
April 26, 20188 yr The top bowel motility specialist in SE Asia is here in Bangkok...and yes...Biofeedback (and a whole lot more) is offered.
April 28, 20188 yr I've also got pelvic floor issues like pain and urinary symptoms but I know mine is caused by structural alignment problems with my pelvis (bicycle fall caused that). I've also had muscle entrapments up in my rectum. Given up trying to cure it all to be honest. But good luck to you hope you cure it. Edited April 28, 20188 yr by Bonobojt
