Visa Advice

Recommended Posts

Currently I am on a 12 month Retirement extension running out 25th June.  (UK passport)

I do not want to renew it, but when I come back to Thailand on 20th June at Suvarbhumi Airport I don't want the immigration to give me just to 25th June, rather I would like a 30 day Visa Exempt stamp, is this feasible?

Thanks for any replies.

Do you have a re-entry permit? If not then 30 days is all you will be given on entry.

If you have one you should leave the space for a visa number blank and inform the officer you do not want to use your re-entry permit. It should not be a problem since you will only have 5 days remaining on your extension.

Sorry Ubonjoe, maybe I was not clear,  I guess what you are saying is no problem, just ask for a 30 day type and do not want a re-entry type stamp.

What I thought is that they will only give me a visa until 25th June (I have a re-entry visa which finishes of course when the retirement visa finishes on 25th June.)

I was just checking can I be given  30 Day entry on arrival type visa stamp, rather than anything to do with retirement visa?   Thanks

If they used your re-entry permit (not visa) you would be given a permit to stay stamp to June 25th.

Just inform the officer you do not want to use the re-entry permit. If you leave the space for a visa number blank he may not even look for the re-entry permit and give you a 30 day visa exempt entry.
