Train service from Bangkok’s Wong Wian Yai to Mae Klong in Samut Sakhon remained closed after a train derailment blocking the rail tracks since early yesterday.

The Wong Wian Yai-Mahachai train derailed between Rang Pho in Bang Bon district and Karn Kheha in Bang Khunthian district, at 5.15 am yesterday (April 27).

No one was injured in the incident while the State Railway of Thailand authorities had already removed the derailed train from the track.

An upgrade and reasonable maintenance of existing rail links is more urgent than monstrous spendings on new high-speed trains that maybe drive in 5 years+

Derailment happen all over the world including the developed west.

India is forever experiencing them.

Sad fact of life

Looks like the wooden sleepers are rotten, and 1 bolt hole in each joining rail,

then after that concrete sleepers,

Just wait till they get the really fast trains !!

Just bad maintenance & workmenship all round

Looks like they spliced a piece of rail in cutting it from the end of a new piece & taking it out to the track then trim it to size & only drill 1 hole on that side
